Why It's Easier to Succeed With SSI Absolute Encoder Than You Might Think

These encoders what have serial communication protocol can be produced as an internal structure by optical and magnetic technology. Optic encoders show position accuracy while magnetic encoders are less affected by environmental conditions. Outputs of absolute encoders with SSI communication may be gray-coded or binary-coded. The position value in one turn and the number of turn of the encoder shaft are presented to the user via serial communication. Optionally, the error bit representing the parity bit and the error output of the incoming data can be added to the communication data. SSI encoders can exchange data at a maximum of 2 MHz. There are also optional inputs for resetting and for determining the direction of rotation. When the supply voltage is applied to these inputs, the product resets the position data or can rotate the direction of rotation counterclockwise.
